Tuomas has been involved in the company's growth story from the beginning and has seen how a shared vision has been built over the years into a functional and respected workplace. Now we hear about his journey and what has been accomplished in the past years.
”I feel great! There are interesting projects going on now and it feels very meaningful to work on them,” he says. ”I joined Graniitti in the early stages of its establishment, when the company was just starting to build and they were still looking for an office. We had a small team and a strong belief that together we could build a strong and sustainable work community.”
”When I was at my previous job, I had started to consider new ideas, and that’s when I got a call from Graniit. They told me about a new company they had founded, whose goal was not to maximize profit, but to provide a good workplace for the long term, where the well-being of employees is at the center of everything we do. This promise has been true from the beginning and continues to be true.”
Now, after more than eight years, the focus is still on the future. ”My goal is to continue working at Graniit with interesting projects and clients for as long as possible, until I can finish my career here one day.”

Over the years, the job description has been diverse and has allowed for new learning. The largest projects have been related to the implementation and deployment of IT projects, such as CRM and billing systems. In addition, there have been opportunities to improve agile development and procurement projects.
”The variety of work across different projects and clients has kept me interested all these years,” Tuomas reflects.

Behind a long career at Graniitti is a strong connection to the company's values, culture, and colleagues.
”"There are many reasons for enjoying myself. First of all, the content of the work, I do something that feels like my own. Project-based work suits me perfectly and the work is meaningful.".
Secondly, Graniitti's operating culture. We say what we do and do what we say. This applies to both employment matters and projects. The company's values are close to my own.
Thirdly, the Granite spirit. Even though you don't see your colleagues all the time, you know they are always there to support you. There are many different but great people at Granite.”
The team spirit is also evident outside of work. Orienteering has been an important part of the Graniitti years. ”We put together a seven-person Jukola team, even though the company only had 11 employees at the time. Jukola went great,” Tuomas recalls.
”Orientation has been a great way to strengthen team spirit and meet colleagues outside of work. This year we organized seven joint events, and at best, nine enthusiastic orienteers participated. It has been great to see how many people have become enthusiastic and have already learned to orienteer quite well.”
Now we are looking to the future. The goal is to participate in Jukola again when Espoo-Jukola comes around in 2028.
